St Gervais Mountain Restaurants

There’s a huge choice of on-mountain dining in the region of Saint Gervais, with more than two-dozen restaurants spread across the various sectors. The majority are small to mid-sized locally-owned establishments and there’s a higher proportion of table-service establishments than you’ll normally find, for which it’s advisable to book a table in advance if you can. See the Megeve and Les Houches reviews for some examples of restaurants in their sectors.

At Le Bettex at the base of the slopes both Causettes (+33 (0)4 50 93 13 92) and La Coterie are both good. The former has table service and a good terrace with wonderful views, the latter with favourite French and Savoyard dishes and a good choice of grilled meats. La Fleche d’Or nearby is also good and serves traditional cuisine in a lovely wooden restaurant or out on the terrace.

Restaurants in St Gervais

St Gervais has around 50 restaurants to choose from with everything from simple creperies to gourmet establishments, you won’t go hungry.

The majority of establishments of course offer traditional French cuisine but, thanks to its size and the wide choice, you can opt to eat something different if you like. For example La Pizza Pava (+33 (0)4 50 90 44 59) is one of several Italian options.
Among the numerous choices for Savoyard cuisine there’s La Four (+33 (0)4 50 78 14 16) and Le Galeta (+33 (0)4 50 93 16 11) both atmospheric and with reservations recommended. For crepes the 4 Epices (+33 (0)4 50 47 75 75) is a good choice.
At the gourmet end Le Serac (+33 (0)4 50 93 80 50) is listed in the current "Gault et Millau" guide and specialises in contemporary cuisine.

Grocery Shops

A real French town needs real French food and thankfully St Gervais is chock full of traditional family purveyors of all our favourites – boulangeries, patisseries, delis and epiceries - they’re all here in abundance.

Good boulangeries include Le Seve (+33 (0)4 50 47 72 43) and D’Antan (+33 (0)4 50 18 02 98) and there are lots of small regional food specialists including Leon d’la Savoie (+33 (0)4 50 93 58 21), Le Ferme Savoyard (+33 (0)4 50 93 64 60) and Retour des Alpages (+33 (0)4 50 93 16 08).

There are several supermarkets too including a Spar (+33 (0)4 50 47 54 20), opposite the church, in the resort centre; a Casino (+33 (0)4 50 96 67 93) store and a Sherpa (+33 (0)4 50 47 94 74) opposite the tourist office which loans out fondue sets and similar, as well as selling the ingredients!
